Forget The Hit Stick...Why Not Make The Right Stick "Tackle Stick"???

EA should just get rid of the whole "Hit Stick" foolishness and make the Right Stick Total Control Tackling aka the "Tackle Stick". I propose the set up to be like this:

Right Stick- Tackle Stick

Right Stick Up- Tackle High
Right Stick Side- Waist Wrap Tackle
Right Stick Down- Leg Wrap Tackle

LT(Left Trigger) Modifier

LT + Right Stick Up- Launch Tackle High
LT + Right Stick Side- Launch Tackle Mid
LT + Right Stick Down- Launch Tackle Low
LT + RT+ Right Stick- HIT Stick Type Tackles

Get rid of the canned tackling and utilize the IE to coincide with Total Control Tackling!!!

Just KISS. No need to add more just to add more bugs and glitches to the game.

While I do think this would be a unique and ok idea by using LT you take away strafing also launching against a defenseless wr is illegal and probably wouldn't be allowed by the NFL

The simple is old, ugly and corny. Don't be afraid of change.

I assume your talking about the poster above me but even if you are or aren't don't you think the unresponsiveness of the hit stick at times would still linger into the tackle stick. Again I think the idea is good but getting rid of the strafe button not so much just look at the NCAA Heisman Challenge debacle with no strafe button

No one is afraid of change, people just know that it won't work properly.

Launching into a receiver will never be added to the game because the NFL will not allow EA to put it in, so you can throw out the entire modifier part of your post. It's the same reason helmets coming off, tattoos and late hits are no longer in the game.

Maybe I am finally losing it, but I actually like this idea in theory. However, I would never control a person on D anyway because I just allow huge unrealistic gains because I always switch to a player just in time to mess him up from me taking control and then switching again because all I did was move him out of position...but still, I kinda like the idea of tackling low for instance because then that would allow for the opposing player to do something like hurdle, which would really add immersion to the user-controlled player because you'd have to realistically react to the defenders.

I remember in NCAA 05, after a play you could press some button and players would start fighting. Loved that game.
