Does the CPU even care about schemes?

As I go into the off season and view signings by the CPU I noticed that they sign players that do not fit their scheme way to often. Now I don't always sign players that fit my scheme but I try to sign linebackers that fit my 4-3 and apparently the CPU just doesn't care as I see many of them signing 3-4 linebackers when they are using a 4-3. I guess what I am trying to get at is that it appears that schemes really don't even matter to the CPU

The CPU probably signs the highest rated player regardless of scheme. So it probably not working the way it should.

Re: Does the CPU even care about schemes?

How bad is it? Are we talking specifically 3-4 pass rush OLBs signing and playing as 4-3 OLBs? That'd be bad. However, it could be that these LBs are still showing decently rated as 4-3 LBs depending on the scheme. I'd imagine 3-4 ILBs rate fine to most 4-3 teams and 3-4 OLBs with decent coverage skills might as well.

are players ratings higher if the player fits your scheme?

Re: Does the CPU even care about schemes?

schemes were what i was excited about the most this year but they just dont work.. players shouldnt have schemes just player types.. and players goals should match the player type.. if i have all run blocking linemen their season goals should all be rushing related but theres still always 1 or 2 with passing tds/yards
