I have always noticed this issue with newer players who were deserving not getting in, but as they became more famous (ie. been excellent over a number of years) it was much easier for them to make it...

There must be some form of fame modifier to pro-bowl voting (presumably legace plays a part)!

In my oline ccm (28user) im leading the MVP vote for the league with Phillip Rivers. I am no where in the pro bowl voting! It is week 11 and since the voting showed up i havent even sniffed a 3rd qb vote. Even though my numbers crush the 1st,2nd,3rd place vote getters.

I don't really care all that much, just seems off. Although if you get XP for pro bowl that would annoy me lol

Player of the week at least for defense is pretty wonky too. For instance i can have a guy get five sacks and force a couple fumbles but some guy that had one tackle and had one interception for a TD will be player of the week. The defensive TD weighs the heaviest for that award.
