I would tend to agree with you at this point. I recall reading that there have been studies conducted in Norway / Sweden / Finland (I forget which one, definitely a Scandinavian country) which failed to find that piracy had a significant impact on video game sales. A related study found that those who pirated music were more likely to spend money on music.

Doesn't begin to justify piracy or make it lawful, but it's an interesting observation.

Plenty of games came out for consoles and PC last year, I don't see consoles moving to a similar architecture increasing the chances of a PC Madden.

If the ROI was there we'd have it already.

Tiburon has a hard enough time putting out a subpar game on consoles, they don't need the stress of a pc version, lol.

Consoles and PC's having similar architectures may increase the ROI.

Re: With Consoles moving into x86 architecture....

I think an end to the NFL exclusive would be the only thing that could result in EA producing Madden for the PC, not the architecture of the new consoles. I don't see any reason to believe that anything other than EA wanting to maximize their cornering of the licensed football market, is the reason Madden or NCAA for that matter, haven't been released on PC since M08. I don't understand why it seems some people take whatever EA or any other company alleges to be the gospel truth, without seeming to consider any other facts.

My take on it is that there has been no Madden PC because with all the modding the community is able to do, there are gamers that are less likely to re-up for a new Madden release, that didn't offer what they feel to be significant upgrades. Hell, that's likely why the console version is so User option light too, in comparison with other sports sims and football games we had before the exclusive. Simply put, football license exclusives are the The Devil of football gaming and the cause of most, if not all, of its' ills, lol.
