With Consoles moving into x86 architecture....

Do we now have a chance for a PC version of Madden?

I don't think it'd make much of a difference since EA's initial decision to remove PC support was due to issues with piracy rather than compatibility.

Anything's possible, though. There's probably more chance of a Madden PC release than there is of EA actually making the franchise worth playing.

I could see a scenario where Madden returns to the PC as an Origin exclusive title (i.e. not on Steam). That said, I don't think that a PC return is likely, however.

While piracy is the blame, it doesn't stop other PC game developers from continue to use the platform...I simply don't buy it. The platform is on the rise, there's no reason to avoid it.

I think it's the simple fact that users can take their game and greatly enhance it with their own user generated tools, which puts their efforts more or less to shame.

Not sure how you can say this when The Sims 3, The Sims 2, The Sims, SimCity 4, SimCity 3000, Need For Speed: Most Wanted, Battlefield 3, FIFA 13, Mass Effect 3, and Portal 2 - all titles published by EA on the PC - support user modification in some capacity.

This is a good topic, and it leads to something that worries me more going forward. With "most" games looking to be digital download instead of discs, that likely increases the risk of piracy and the possibility that I'm going to DL a virus into my console...right? Am I alone in having that fear? Knock on wood, I've been lucky so far, but I've seen someone personally deal with it per their WOW game. Dude was PO'ed. I wish we'd have filmed it.

Not possible to right a virus for a console, they can't execute unsigned code.

In the same stance the piracy issue is not much of a leg for EA stand on either CM. They still release FIFA and Tiger on PC.
