The AI for putting a team together is really basic and unpolished. Teams give long, big money deals to declining players. They don't release backups making starter money. They don't cut players they should, such as aging stars in the last year or two of a long, pricey deal. Teams that need a new starter may sign three. Young players with low salaries and multi-year deals are cut to make room for veterans with similar salaries but slightly higher OVR. Teams trade up in the first round to grab players who won't start.

The AI sometimes makes reasonable football decisions, and the real world makes us scratch our heads pretty often. Those surprises in real life don't justify the bad decisions we see from Madden AI so often.
I love this point he made above. I've seen Eli Manning become a Free Agent is almost every CCM. It's a virtual guarantee. I can't see any scenario were Eli Manning becomes a FA without being traded first. Yet the CPU allows a 2x Super Bowl winning QB to leave while the team does not have a top 10 draft pick or young Rising QB on the roster...

As far as Luck or RG3 not being re-signed not as crazy as it sounds huh.....Real Life case subject: Alex Smith. Guy sucked for years and the Niners still held on to him for as long as they could because he was the first QB taken. Teams will not just let a top pick walk unless he is Jamacus Russell "not even showing up to camp anymore" status. As long as the guy is being professional and showing up to work not causing problems in the locker room. The team will most like keep him and fire the coach or OC. hoping the next guy can mold him.

Yeah, but that's something you can get from the old Franchise mode anyway. Plus it just seems more scripted that specific things will happen in CCM 9 times outta 10 no matter what. But either way it's not anything amazing or out the usual with sports games, you just hope it happens less often than in CCM. So, not to be Debbie Downer, but it's not really "justified".

The same simulation with the same roster information has a pretty good shot at doing the same thing when being run over and over more than once.
