Effect of Digital Buttons in Next Gen Hardware (PS4)

With the PS4 announcing that they are ditching analog buttons (buttons that provide multiple levels of feedback) for digital buttons (simply the button is pressed or not pressed), how will this affect passing in Madden NFL 25?

This is of legitimate concern for developers.

Time for them to switch to the passing model I've wanted for years. Press button to select target, pull trigger to throw at said target.

Hopefully they don't just leave it as is and let the game decide the velocity....ugh.

I would expect that nothing changes and duration of a button press will be what determines the action that happens like always.

On the PS2, at least it felt like the pressure sensitive controls contributed to pass velocity/trajectory.

honestly i think for madden it will be fine it'll help with button recognition alot times you'll press jump to catch or pump fake button won't respond like you never pressed it. As far as passing goes i think r stick gonna have alot more to do with passing

Long overdue. Sports games are the only relics remaining with buttons assigned to primary triggers.

Echoing the "please try something new with the passing controls" sentiment.

I think I'd prefer putting all throwing on the right stick, but whether it be the stick or the triggers for a new control scheme, please do something different.

I agree with this and I for one was happy to hear about the length of holding down the button touted for M13 versus some "sweet spot" with button press sensitivity. The simple mechanic for digital is have the pass thrown on the release of the button, not the press and let the type of pass determine by the duration of the hold.
