Practice XP Question

In offline CCM, I understand that you can view the XP earned via in-game goals for each player. My question is, what is the maximum amount of XP (or how is it earned) during practice?

Is it simply stat based? If so, what is the cap on XP (trying to figure out if it's worth my time).

Apologies if this has been covered, I'm new to the board.
