Rex Dickson said they don't want to add features unless they fully develop them anymore. That is why he said they realized that blocking would be two cycles. One of them for run blocking, they're going to improve what they can in pass blocking in the meantime. Then another one for pass blocking. I'm perfectly ok with that as long as it means they are going to give us the best possible gameplay with each element of football. They are saying Clint Oldenburg has gone through and completely redone every run play this year and they also brought Bob Wylie, former Raiders O-line coach in for 3 days to have a blocking technique training camp. Hopefully next year they will give the pass blocking that same level of attention and detail. Rex also mentions in his interview in the Press Row Podcast about wanting to have a subject matter expert for each feature that they add from now on. I would guess Clint Oldenburg will be the one to help with pass blocking and then they will have a former WR and DB come in when they redo the wr/db interactions. Doug Martin and Kenjon Barner came in and helped them with the Run Free feature this year and taught them about how they, and other NFL HBs start running at 80% speed and then wait to find the hole before they accelerate to top speed. With that in mind, sprint won't take you above a players realistic top speed it just gets you there faster.

These are just some examples of some of the ways the approach and mindset is changing, I wouldn't say has changed yet, with the development team that is there now.
So wait another 4 to 5 years until we have the game we want? Yippie!

I was more so speaking on the audio, not the appearance of the crowd. That never was a big deal to me.

If you're expecting a perfect simulation game or close to it, yes. If you're expecting a great game of football with a few flaws here and there but something that plays as good or better than any football game before it, no.

With Madden 25 I think most people will have the game they always wanted on current gen. With next gen I think people will have to really nit pick to not be happy, IF they deliver on things like human intelligence and player motion. Those two features alone would put this game at the upper echelon of all sports games.

All of that sounds great, but as you said, the execution has to be there. I mean this is the same team that redid passing and did so in a way where they made things less realistic(in the way receivers react to passes) and also didn't touch key aspects in quarterback movements and couldn't get sig throws to function properly. Maybe it will be easier with the new hardware/software, but I'm nowhere near as confident in these guys as you are. Maybe Madden 25 will change that on next gen.

If the blocking works as advertised and the run blocking techniques and fundamentals are in place like they say they are, how will that effect your outlook on next gen? Just curious

Not really, unless the other sports games take a major step back, they'll still be playing catch up. Not to mention for somebody like myself, the presentation as to be there too. Something Tiburon has always struggled with.

It definitely will make me feel more confident going into next gen, but honestly I couldn't care less about Madden current gen. I know it won't be the game I'm looking for. I'm done with it. E3 will hopefully show me all I need to see to help me make my decision about next gen Madden.

I gotta better idea. How about...don't take away the features that people love, but BUILD ON THEM! I know...crazy concept. I should be banned for suggesting such a preposterous idea.
