EA Sports Ignite Is a Next-Gen "Protective Measure" (IGN)

NHL has the benefit of being relatively obscure compared to a title like Madden. But this isn't anything new - Madden's biggest problem, even bigger than the lack of competition IMO, is the fact it is such a hugely important title sales wise. So important EA basically have no choice about whether it should be a launch title - it absolutely has to be, ready or not. Based on their own admission, 06 was not, and yet they happily churned it out anyway - no qualms about sending out a sub par product at all. Not a hint of it. And if it could happen for the 360's launch, then what is the pressure like for the PS4's *and* XB1's?

They say it is ready this time, or maybe it's just so important that they'll say anything to win the launch sales. Only time will tell.

I am a "glass half full" kinda guy so I think it will be a surprisingly solid title. Madden 06 for 360 was so bad, there is no way they could do any worse for a launch title.
