Special Teams Aces

This may be small to some, but for me it would be huge. There are certain players in the NFL that are known for their special teams play. Moreover, I would like for this to be reflected in Madden. This would be rather simple, just have a 'Special Teams Ace' trait. What this would do is exponentially increase a players ratings, who has this trait, during all special teams plays. So that when building your roster, and deciding on who to keep or cut, certain players might make the team based solely on their special teams exploits, as is the case in real life.

Nevertheless, players such as Larry Izzo, Brandon Ayenbedejo, Kassim Osgood ect would be quite useful. Whereas, players without this trait would see their ratings dip on special teams. In adding, another trait they SHOULD add is the 'Long snapper' trait. Players without this trait would be about 50x more likely to snap the ball wildly, oh yeah, they need to add wild snaps with this too. Whereas, players with it would snap the ball a lot more accurately, but still be susceptible to the occasional slip up. Now i know long snappers are in the game all ready, but they are useless for any thing other than special teams and most people just insta cut them once they start their franchise.

This would be useful when/if we can get a special teams depth chart. Until then I'll continue to see Clay Matthews and James Jones on kick and punt coverage. The closest thing they have is return specialist that boosts blockers ratings on punt and kick returns.

True, as it stands now, i just look for players that have the best speed hit power combo and put them on ST. As well as a starting LB or two, because I need as many tackles with them as I can get, due to the insanely high tackle goals.

Re: Special Teams Aces

running back kicks and punts is darn near impossible no matter who has the ball. the only sliders i have used where it wasnt was authentics but the rest of the game was very easy.

Exactly! I want Joe Lefeged to perform realistically on ST, but he can't without making him too good on defense. Great idea.

Love this idea.

I do hope that they make a special teams depth chart though so that we can make sure they're in on special teams play.

Re: Special Teams Aces

Yeah, I wish special teams would get way more attention. Long snapper should be its own position, it's annoying that they're in the game but they're all 34 OVR tight ends.
