Re: Even if Madden 25 is great was madden this gen a bust?

for me its kinda both, I did enjoy playing the games because it was the only lisenced football game out, each year had there ups and downs but it seemed like when they had the good stuff the bad outweighed it, for instance 08,09 Ithought were fun liked the intros in 08 of players comming out of the locker room and the weapons thing,09 just liked how it felt when playing.
What ruined those games was the poor progression system that never worked.
10 I thought ways fun maybe the best, but didnt like the way the did progression for that system either.
11 didnt know what to thinked
12 had some good things but could not stand the superman lbs always pickin me off, also did not like the predetermined rookie set up of A,B,C rated players.
13 just lacked the fun element for me. Did alot of good things but was so burnt out over the years just didnt care anymore.
Not to mention poor O and D line play over the years, a horrible challenge system over the years, Replays that were below sub par,Penalties never being called right, players not having a personallity and no assist in 13 and now in 25.
There was just to many issues holding the madden series back for this gen, Maybe to much turnover with devs IDK but yeah. It is what it is.

Yes big time on a scale of 1-10 1 not being dissapoted at all 10 being the most it was a 10. I don't know how any one can say no. Form madden 06-09 this gen ever thing besides graphics was worse then last gen ever thing. Madden 10 imporved a lot form madden 0-6-09 but that improvement just madden it form a terable game to a ok game. Madden last gen was the best sports game out ever year and ever year the made it better. This gen madden is not even close to being has good has mlb the show, nba 2k and nhl. Even after madden 13 there are still things that are worse this gen then last gen like the cpu clock management last gen the cpu clock management was good this gen not even close to being good and still almost no penaties happen in the game. Madden was so bad this gen that if you told me what madden 13 would be like back just before this gen started I would have laughed at you and said the game would be like 10 times better then it is. Madden this gen was a joke and was a wast of a gen. Lets hope madden next gen can be more like madden was on ps2 but I have lots all confidence that they can make madden great again.

Re: Even if Madden 25 is great was madden this gen a bust?

I voted no. I understand that I am in the minority, but I voted no for two reasons:

1) My personal enjoyment. I loved Madden 9, 10 and 12. They were all by far the games I played the most over the generation and I consider Madden 12 to be one of the best Maddens ever. On to my second reason

2) The mistakes made have taught EA a valuable lesson. It appears that next-Gen madden is not being taken for granted and a big reason for this is the debacle that was Madden 06.

I don't consider this generation a bust, but I am looking forward to leaving it in the rearview mirror and moving onto next-Gen Madden.

Like the guy said before me Im not a big NCAA football fan either, I think they play alot harder on the field in real life just never got into it.
Like the demo, seemed like there was more weight to the players, but still saw quite a bit of sliding in game and I cant run the ball at all for some reason,So IDK.

Sage, love the batman, need to figure out how to put up other pics for ids on here.
I haven't seen a 85-90% like of the demo in NCAA or Madden for a long time. That appears to be the % for NCAA so far.

I don't see much sliding because of the better foot planting and phyics in the game. That's why I'm excited for the future of football, NCAA really has me hooked at the moment.

Re: Even if Madden 25 is great was madden this gen a bust?

It was an overall disappointment on a whole based on 06 taking a HUGE step(s) back from the PS2 version of Madden.

It felt like there was no direction & it took to long for the game to get back to what it was. My opinion!

Still, I don't think what we the consumer & who play this game are heard/listened to. Yeah, we voice our opinion & post in the wishlist forum, but too many things still missing in game.

Madden represents the NFL. The things that make the game are left out.

Line play and footplanting are finally getting the overhauls they need. AI has been bad the entire gen. We still dont have WR/DB interactions. To say Madden this gen was a bust is a understatement. I have to say im excited to see that they seem to have finally put a team together that gets it, and that are pushing to give us the football game we truly deserve.
It's been the darn emphasis on making every moment of your game a highlight. Then reducing/eliminating what they believe is boring like penalties, physics, and realism.
