Madden-The love/hate relationship personified

Never has a cliche been so fitting as the old love/hate relationship. That completely sums up my take on Madden. I am in the playoff mood so decided to recreate them just to kill some time and have some fun. I am playing all-pro with only slider adjustments in kicking game. Point being I was really into it but my God the big plays the ai comes up with are enough to make me pull my hair out. Also I would like a relatively low scoring game once in a while. I personally don't really believe in the comeback ai but there definitely is heavy momentum just like real life. No specific rant or complaint, just I love the game and I hate it all at once. Well back to playing.

I think the pursuit angles taken by defensive players aren't too good a lot of times, which leads to big plays. Everybody just runs directly at the ball carrier without showing any kind of logic to "help" the player trying to make a tackle. For example, in the LB Chase drill. I'll take the linebacker and go right for the ball carrier, but so will my safety behind me, the back will spin and cut back, and he's gone. The same type of thing happens in game type situations in the passing game, which leads to big big gains a little more often than I would like. Bumping up the Def Awareness helps this a little bit, but it's still noticeable.

I'm with you on the low scoring game wish. No matter what I do on defense the computer always scores a bunch of points whether I'm behind or ahead.

Hmmm, haven't had that problem. I've held the computer to under 10pts plenty of times. Some shutouts too. I've also had some low scoring games. I was using the Texns and beat the Raven 13-7 just recently.

I've found that one of major the keys to realism is your playing style and whether or not you like to exploit the game's AI
