That's how the computer gets all their yards on me I play good D and then the computer just bust out a 40 yard pass. Their needs to be alot of tweaking by EA next year.

Try out Jistic's All-Madden sliders. I have no complaints so far. In three games, the only big plays I've seen are a Randy Moss catch and run (maybe 70 yds), a Tim Dwight punt return for a TD and a Priest Holmes 65 yd TD run. I thought they were all pretty realistic. The CPU puts together drives against you and you really have to concentrate to move the ball downfield. Give them a try if you are unhappy with the game. If you still aren't happy, either tweak them a little bit or give ESPN a shot. It is a good game as well, definitely worth a try if you haven't already.

I'd like that just as much as anyone, unfortunately you have to make the best of what you have.

Have you tried controlling the DBs when the ball it launched downfield ? If you switch to manual control as the ball gets close sometimes you can control the DB and make a pick more intelligently than the CPU can - I said sometimes

you can always commit to the pass with the playmaker button. i don't give up many big plays but i have madison, surtain, knight and marion.
