Correct, during the pre season and season you are restricted as to where you can change positions. Once you are in the off season you have more options. You'll even see story lines of player position changes by the computer. I saw the Lions move Suh to defensive end to betters suite their position needs.

Not to jack the thread but can you create players and use them in franchise mode?

Like most things done by EA, its hit or miss. Some players you CANNOT edit their position. I drafted this 6'8 beast of a WR but he only had 82 speed. I tried to change him to a TE, but I couldn't. Same goes with WR who was 6'6' and had 75 speed. For both of these players when you go into the edit player screen the option to edit position was not available. Very disappointing.

Yes, you just import your off-line roster.

So you could just edit their position before entering franchise mode and import the roster to solve the problem right?

when we start a new ccm. are we able to edit positions immeditialty before the seaons starts?

Once you start the season you can only make basic changes. Like rt to lt etc. Before the season starts u can change everything
