Can I create a player (like myself) and put him on a team in either the online or offline franchise mode where I am the owner. I DO NOT want to play with that guy I just want him on the team while I go about playing normally (as the qb at the snap)...
Is this possible?

yes. choose import custom roster. he'll be there, game face and all.

Yes. I'm actually playing that way right now in one of my leagues.
