Re: The Infinity/Ignite Engine is close to being a FAIL...

I'm gonna wait to see what Ignite has to offer before I label it a failure. I don't have much hope that I will like what Tiburon is doing, but I'm willing to see what Madden 25 on next gen, and what Madden next year on next gen has to offer.

Ignite Engine is different and not even out yet so how can you call it a fail? Nice try though.

I think madden 25's infinity engine is better than m13. I also like that madden , FIFA and NHL are working together to produce the most realistic physics for next gen. I will agree that the early demo of the next gen madden showed similar characteristics of the current gen. This was also done to demonstrate the new footwork . I will be patient and wait to see if the ability to decompress animations due to a more powerful CPU will make the difference.

Re: The Infinity/Ignite Engine is close to being a FAIL...

I don't know why anyone is surprised by this. Madden football has been about rosters and features more than anything else and it's been that way since the beginning. The moment Ea actually had competition with nfl 2k they simply threw money at the problem instead of trying to step up their game and give us a product we football fans wanted to play. Being the only licensed nfl game they can give us anything they want because we have no other option.

This years game is no exception. I mean did anyone really ask for the return of owner mode? Okay so I can move my team and change the name, but why does the stadium and field maintain the same look and emblem? Why did they move setup buttons like blitzing a de....it was a simple double tap on the d pad and now a double tap on the d pad is a yellow zone? Change for the sake of change is lazy, deceptive and arrogant.

Did they make good additions this year? Sure. The running game is fun again, animations are better and receivers block better. But the bad far out weigh the good. I like online franchise mode with my friends, but the lack of information on the significant each statistical rating has always bothered me I.e. confidence, physical and intangible to name a few. Instead of fixing it they just make it easier to accumulate points. They add owner mode but who really wants to change the price of a hotdog?

When it comes right down to it i'll buy madden because its a social tool for my friends and I who have been together since Xbox live first started and love football as much as I do. We'll all put up with all the short comings because Ea made sure we would.
