Running Game

So I tried to find the thread about running game when Madden first came out, but couldn't. I pick up Madden for $30 on craigslist (got to love that site). Anyways I'm using Charter's sliders and I'm finding it way easy to run. Like super easy. I play with the probalance playbook so I do no read option plays at all. I tried to change the penalties sliders that affect running, but it's not working. I'm the raiders and I traded away Mcfadden and have a 66 overall guy as my running back. I also traded away a couple of good OL man (I like playing with a really bad team and try to build up in the draft, kind of like ncaa with a bad team and recruiting).

First game against colts I rush as a team for 259 yards(would have been more but my RB fumbled twice and colts recovered). Second game against jags, yea i know jags suck but still, i rushed for 234 yards as a team. So is there no way to make the running game harder? Did I just pretty much waste 30 bucks? haha. Really though I can't play like this if it's going to be this easy.

CPU run d is bad. There have been earlier years of madden where it was better b/c EA gave us different sliders to use but it's never been good. The cpu doesn't adjust to unbalanced formations which makes some stretches, tosses, powers, etc easy money plays.

Not familiar w/ his sliders but I've seen the CPU play decent run d in this game as long as you don't try to exploit its weaknesses. Avoid money plays, don't run the read option (at least not frequently), and try not to zig zag w/ the left stick too much.

I just turned it off just now once I rushed for 10, 4, 5, 5 and 12 yards against Denver.....

Yea I don't do any of that. Heck I've gotten to the point where I don't do anything with the RB other than cover up the ball and sometimes I don't do that so I have a chance to fumble. I wonder though, we all know using speed burst when you first hand the ball off causes the defenders to focus on you faster (at least in previous madden's) I wonder to stop my good running game I should just try to speed burst so they focus on me faster. Might give it a try.

What is weird is I know the holding slider does affect the shed block. Well I turned it down more hoping that the cpu would shed more. Well it seems to work for the user way too good and the cpu it doesn't seem to do anything. When Denver had the ball first my guys got off of their blocks like they where all reggie white. But when I had the ball the cpu D still got pushed back and couldn't get off blocks good.

Does anybody know of a team thats lineman progression more set to having the team gain a total of 2600 yards, instead of 4200 yards passing?More of the lineman better because i love to run the ball.
