Strange thing I noticed about Madden and coaching schemes

So I found this website that literally tells you every base-defense and base- offense every team runs in the NFL and I'm noticing a couple of things:

1) No team is listed as power run, zone run, or balanced for that matter.

2) Vertical offense is rather called Air Coryell.

3) The spread offense that teams like the Patriots and Steelers run is called Erhardt-Perkins.

4) They got most of the schemes wrong!

Here's the website for anyone wanting to check it out:

Just hold your mouse on the teams button and click on a team.

Googled Erhardt-Perkins. Good read.

Thanks for the read! It's quite fascinating how EA has created a football game without doing necessary research. Personally, a lot of people need to be fired there. The lack of realism is absurd!

Re: Strange thing I noticed about Madden and coaching schemes

I have never heard the terms Air Coryell or Erhardt-Perkins before and I'm no casual NFL fan. It makes sense to me why they wouldn't include these terms and instead use a general description of the scheme.

As for getting schemes wrong, that's a shame. I hadn't noticed that yet, but I've only played it a couple times.

And Chuck Pagano claims that it is a 'No Coast' offense so...
Overall it is hard to classify 32 NFL teams O and D into neat categories..
But I'm sure EA made some blatant mistakes, THEY ALWAYS DO lolol

doesn't really matter anyway, they get overall off their player type anyway with a mix of production.

Excuse my ignorance, but really???? Coryell revolutionized a typical NFL Offense... surely you've heard of Dan Fouts? Fouts was his QB.
