I'm in an Online Connected Franchise, I train my DE's with Block Shed and Power or Finesse Moves. If i don't user the DE's is it pointless to train Pow. and Fin. moves?

No, power moves are for bull rushing and fineness moves are for spinning and swimming your way through a lineman.

Think J.J. Watt and the young version of Dwight Freeney.

I know what power moves and finesse moves do. My question was are they useful if you don't control defensive lineman? I user the linebacker or safety.

If you want your D-linemen to get to the QB they are. They are essentially their pass rush ratings.

And you should pair these traits to the physical stats. A DE with high STR but low ACC/AGI/SPD will be better suited for the Bull Rush trait and PMV. Lower STR but higher ACC/AGI/SPD needs the Swim/Spin move traits and FMV.

That's a good point regarding traits!

In answer to the question, boosting finesse and power moves is critical to DE's getting to the quarterback, even if you are not usering them. I read an EA article that said blockshedding was just related to the run game while FIN/POW moves related to pass rushing. The article also said that the type of move triggered when pass rushing was based on which rating (FIN/POW) was higher.

I play a 4-3 scheme and like athletic ends that are around 280lb with decent strength, acceleration and speed. I like to max out the finesse move along with the pursuit rating (which improves rush angles and speed to the QB) Hope that helps!
