Need help please, Speed vs. acceleration for a RB?

So, I drafted a story line rb, who has 79 speed, but 89 acceleration, a guy who is a power back with high str/stiff arm/trucking. But im worried about his speed, but I really like this guy.

Could someone please, explain to me, for a rb, in madden 25, what speed vs acceleration is, and how it affects a RB? Also, will this guy be able to be effective?

Just looking for some clarification on these two stats please. Thank you again

Acceleration is important but speed is of no use whatsoever. You cannot run away from slower players.
My 99 speed rb was caught from behind by Peyton Manning so speed is irrelevant

have you ever considered tweaking the threshold slider or your just content with the way things are for you?

If he is a power back don't worry about the speed. You aren't going to get the great big long runs very often, but he will get you some nice inside runs the speed guys can't get. I love power backs, I just keep pounding them in there all game long and usually late in the 3rd quarter I start to see bigger runs.

Good news, you might know the rb I speak of, I drafted him, Demarquis Scott, from Lsu. He is a strong power back. First game, I did horrible, but after reading this I see why. I kept trying to run on the outside, which didn't work.

So, I'm gonna try to just run it up middle the entire game.

Btw, ive seen his story like 4 times, and each time he gets injured after rushing 220 yards. Then he comes back tentative. Has ANyone seen or heard of a different from him??

Ty again

I have had this conversation on probably 5 different threads, sliders do nothing for this issue. I have put it down to 1 and also at 100. You cannot run away from defenders.
I just watched my LT chase down a CPU CB with90 speed and tackle him from directly behind.

This is one issue they really need to fix in Madden 15

power backs are great because they usually fall forward and pick up a few extra yards. Speed backs tend to fall back when they're hit. also acceleration is better because you can burst through the whole quicker so you can get tthrough the line quicker. Speed is good when getting into the secondary. but if you can get the linebackers consistently you have a very successful run game. And that's how acceleration is better thAn speed when it comes to rbs.
