Re: New Madden 2005 Info!

I wonder how the changes on "D" will effect the frequency of the "big-play"

I think it will help IMMENSELY. It should be night and day difference if it works the way they say it will. Most of the time when I saw big plays in Madden '04, it was because of terrible pursuit angles and not using your teammate to help...everyone was just going for the ball carrier instead of working together as a team.

The easiest place to see it is in the LB Chase and Tackle Drill. You control the LB and can be chasing the RB trying to pin him to the sideline (on a sweep), he spins and you're beat, but so is the safety behind you because he's doing the exact same thing instead of protecing against the cutback.

This is a great gameplay addition to the game, and I could not be happier. Defense is such a team game that it's a shame this was not tweaked a couple years ago, but I will gladly take it now.

What kind of post is this? Explain to us why you think it's fake? The fact that IGN is the one with the news makes this more than just valid.

I like the whole concept of the "hit stick." I believe it will definatly balance out both sides of the ball. All I know is that instead of me hitting the dive button and whiffing past, I'll be given a chance to make a variety of tackles, thus increasing the chances of my defensive personnel to actually increase their tackle numbers. Alot of times when using the dive button, no matter what direction I was pressing with my left analog stick, my tackler would dive whatever way they chose. Hopefully this will help us divers out, lol.

Basically, I'm extremely excited for this year's game. Hopefully they also add in half-sacks, assisted tackles, and solo tackles.

Re: New Madden 2005 Info!

Glad to see the D get some love especially with the pre-snap stuff.

The only thing i'm a bit worried about is the "big hit stick" thing. It sounds a bit gimmicky but it should be fun to pull off once in a while.

Also love the fact that weather will now be improved and change during the game!
