back in the ps2 days i would waste some time designing formations and plays and testing them out against the computer.

was that feature ever in any of the ps3 maddens?

I'd love to have this feature back, even if you couldn't use the play books for online play. This would be a great thing to have back so you can actually design plays to get certain players involved.
