EA/NFLPA Deal

As we all know, there is a "rumor" with EA and NFLPA on a deal to get exclusive naming rights for each and every player. We have all made our statements, but here is what I ask you....

Well, I just noticed how everyone was like, this is a moral issue, and I'm going to stand up to EA by not buying the game. Just wanting everyone's opinion.

The last option was the one that confused me, really.

Some people might buy both and either keep both or keep ESPN.

This whole thing is pretty exciting.

I don't really care either way, as this year's games aren't affected, and I'll be buying the best game, regardless of "default" rosters, but the whole rumor and it's validity routine is kind of suspenseful.

I find it interesting how a magazine can just throw something like that out there, and cause this stir, even though the claim has no valid backing or representation.

If this isn't true, I'm sure their credibility will take a hit, as it is causing fans of both games to go bonkos with curiosity and reactions.

It would be ironic if this ultimately leads to more sales of ESPN and less of Madden, as people become overjoyed to discover that ESPN will have real players after all, and that there is no longer any reason not to buy the game.

Um...did anybody notice how the article paraphrased an unidentified source who said something off the record? This is odd. I'm a journalism major, and basically if you tell somebody something and tell them it's off the record, they are not allowed to report it. I'm not quite sure what this may mean, if anything for that matter. But it does strike me as very weird.
