20-yard Dropback Still in 2005

Very, very sad.

This is only a 12-yard drop back, but still off the back foot, with McNabb, a guy of average accuracy. Unbelievable.

Though the end of this video is encouraging:

The punt returner gets wacked, but gets back up and recovers his own fumble. That would never happen in 2004 -- the guy would lay on the ground for a few seconds while the coverage team picks up the ball.

Re: 20-yard Dropback Still in 2005

Granted, he dropped back, but his feet were set, and he took a step forward before throwing. Also, it was a Play Action, so he had to drop back more to sell the fake.

And lastly, McNabb has a cannon, so I don't think that is such an unrealistic throw for him. He dropped back 3-4 yards for the hand-off, and then 6-7 more to throw.

Anyway, to me it looked like his feet are set and he takes a step forward before throwing.. His feet look planted to me when he throws..

Also, the guy playing D switched to the defender when the ball was in the air and lost a few steps on Pinkston, thus leaving him open.

That's my take on it anyway.. Doesn't seem to be a big deal to me.

I'm more concerned with the fact that he puts the ball right on his guy. Pinkston made no adjustment whatsoever.

you guys are a bit overreacting, it was one play, doesn't a qb usually make one or two or a few plays like that every game? I am just wondering, if it was a whole game, then maybe, I be all irate like you guys are, but seriously, loosen up, everything will work better and you will be happy with Madden 2005 until 2006 comes out
Peace

There were a few other similar videos, including the ones posted here at OS.

The IGN "Extreme Celebration" vid from yesterday also had it. You guys can defend it all you want, but if EA hasn't fixed this problem in 15 years, they aren't going to fix it between June and the time that the game ships.
