Re: Is ESPN taking away all the thunder.

ESPN always gets more excitement every year for the last few now mainly because they're more unpredictable in what they're going to do whereas Madden is more predictable. However the vast majority of people still go with Madden in the end. Personally I always get more excited for ESPN but conversely am always more disappointed in it when I actually buy it and play it.

Re: Is ESPN taking away all the thunder.

I am torn between two games, and no, I do not wanna buy both of them, unless totally necessary, you know, but I had both ESPN and Madden last year, and just thought ESPN was better, and after seeing what ESPN has to offer, wow, I am blown away, but its basically going to be, wait until Madden comes out, wait for some user reviews and choose, I dunno, I love NCAA 2005 and uploading the real players to Madden, that kicks [censored] and all, but I want a Pro football game that will last, and so far, ESPN last year actually did that, Madden kept on going back in the back and collecting dust. Come on Madden, so frick it up, but I have a feeling it is already to late to be saved.

Re: Is ESPN taking away all the thunder.

Not for me, and after playing Madden so much, I bought a cheap copy of ESPN and am giving it a full hard look and am giving all the previews for ESPN 2005 a hard look too. I just do not get the gameplay experience from ESPN that I do from Madden. Not bashing it, that's just me. No doubt, ESPN presentation is awesome, but where it counts for me is the look and play on the field. Everything is still much more intuitive in Madden. Player customization is awesome, and ESPN doesn't touch Madden's Historic options. I cannot get past the wierd running animations or the short arms. Uniform textures in ESPN are awesome, though. Madden gives me just about everything I want the way I want it. ESPN is getting its well deserved attention and respect again this year, but I know I will be playing Madden until my knuckles hurt once again.

That's just silly. I have played Madden every year since the original Madden on the Genesis, but ESPN is just amazing this year. To just dismiss it outright is stupid. I will be getting the Madden Collectors edition for the PS2 and ESPN Football for the Xbox!

People with this attitude give MAdden players a bad rep. Its one thing to say I perfer MAdden over ESPN but to basically dismiss the game for no reason is weak.
