What about the broken franchise? The game plays great, but there's serious problems with the franchise. Hence, why Madden is still needed for me atleast.

How bout it. The only thing ESPN has going for it is PRESENTATION .
I bought it cause of the hype but thats all is is hype. I will be buying Madden and probably playing Madden from its release on out. If ESPN is better , which I doubt, I will be playing it. All I want is the best football game and right now its NCAA and Madden upon its release for me. ESPN SUCKS.

pretty funny stuff... for the earlier poster, the running is "different" in ESPN than Madden/NCAA so if you try to run like you're playing them you'll have little success. I can't speak on the franchise which I haven't tried yet but I've always said it seems most sim junkies like madden b/c EA has ALWAYS been spot on with stats, sorting, etc. and that carries right into franchise. I could do without franchise all together and really don't care about it if the gameplay sucks. I haven't wanted to play a "serious" game of Madden in years. We'll see what this new D does to that, could be promising, but I do suggest you people new to ESPN continue to give it an honest look... the gameplay is very good and very different. I never understood owning two games of the same sport but this is a case where it makes sense depending on what you want.
