What's the Madden curse regarding the athletes on the Madden cover?

whoever is on the cover gets injured (micahel vick), has a bad season and gets injured (culpepper/faulk), or has a good season and then blows the play that takes his team out of the playoffs (eddie george)

so basically something BAD happens to that guy sometime during the season. i wonder why nothing bad happend to John Madden I wish he would choke on some of that TurkDuckEn. haha.
