what is coach mode in madden 2005?

is this where you pick out the plays and the cpu runs them or is this like in espn where the cpu coach picks the play and the human player runs the play?

I'm pretty sure that for both games (ESPN and Madden) you pick the play in coach mode and then the AI runs it for you. At least that's how both games had it last year, and I assume they wouldn't have changed it.
