Hit Stick question....

For all you who have the game, can ya answer a quick question....

Does the direction you move the Hit Stick in effect anything ? Do you attempt certain kinds of tackles or do you have to move in the direction of the person you are trying to tackle ??

I was thinking about how this will work, and from reading some reviews and previews, I am under the impression that you don't need to aim towards the back or reciever, nor does it do different attempts of tackles.. Which makes me think that all you need to do is be near the person with the ball, hit R stick and bam, your making the tackle... Is there a chance you will miss, or is it just good timing equals 100% tackles ??? One of the best things I liked about football games is taking the correct angle and causing the collision to make the play... but if it just takes a proximity angle and a flick of the stick, it has me a bit curious...

Any insight would be appreciated...

Re: Hit Stick question....

Well I've been using the hit stick and I'm pretty sure I'm just giving it a flick and it just does a tackle it isn't that easy I have missed lots of times or sometimes I am too late for the tackle you need quite a bit of room between you and the ball carrier to have a successful "hit stick" tackle. You can also approach the ball carrier at different angles and use the hit stick I find coming in on the side and on a good angle instead of coming at the ball carrier straight ahead will cause a fumble more often.

Re: Hit Stick question....

I just noticed this now while I was the Cowboys and I was playing the Steelers, and I used one of my corners Hunter to be exact to use the hit stick agasint Jerome Bettis and when he went at him to shove him and try and hit him hard (I was coming at Bettis from the side) Bettis shoke him off and Hunter was down on the ground and had an injury on his wrist. Its pretty cool how no little guy can just knock down a powerful back like Bettis.
