well you could always trade one of them

Re: Fantasy draft for Franchise

i sometimes do it but i always do way to good. i have a tendency to draft almost all rookies at QB, RB, WR, and TE. its fun but can be bad.

i'd like to start one but i just started a franchise with the Browns and did some trading so i'm set with them.

Re: Fantasy draft for Franchise

I do fantasy drafts with created teams. I'm glad they let us use them in Owner Mode this year, it's awesome. Only thing bad is that you read the newspaper of whatever team you replaced, and your team is in that city. Just go to the city info crap.

Re: Fantasy draft for Franchise

I just did a draft the other day, focusing only on young players. I kept restarting the draft until I got high enough to get LaDainian Tomlinson. He's the oldest player on my team at 25. Since I was making a run at young players, I ended up with both Eli Manning and Drew Henson. My passing game was a little shaky at first... I'm also not a big Eli fan. Out of curiosity, I looked around the league and saw Chad Pennington on the trading block. Upon closer inspection, their team also had Michael Vick. I did the following trade:

Drew Henson, 1st round pick, 2nd round pick

for

Michael Vick, 3rd round pick, 4th round pick

Quite the steal in my opinion. I figured I didn't really need the draft picks anyways because my team is so young. Here's my roster (with their respective rating, and age in parenthesis):

QB - Michael Vick - 92 (24) / Eli Manning - 81 (23) / Ken Dorsey - 68 (23)
HB - LaDainian Tomlinson - 98 (25) / Kevin Jones - 78 (22) / Jarrett Payton - 65 (23)
FB - Justin Griffith - 84 (23)
WR - Tyrone Calico - 82 (23) / Reggie Williams - 80 (21) / Rashad Woods - 77 (23) / Michael Clayton - 76 (21) / Derrick Hamilton - 70 (22)
TE - Jeremy Shockey - 95 (23) / Ben Watson - 79 (24) / Tim Euhus - 68 (23)
T - Bryant McKinnie - 92 (24) / Kareem McKenzie - 85 (25) / Max Starks - 70 (22) / Kevin Sampson - 66 (22)
G - Shawn Andrews - 82 (21) / Steve Sciullo - 83 (23) / Sean Locklear - 70 (23) / Jacob Bell - 70 (23)
C - Jeff Faine - 84 (23) / Jake Grove - 75 (24)
DT - Albert Haynesworth - 90 (23) / Tommie Harris - 82 (20) / Dwan Edwards - 74 (23) / Marcus Bell - 69 (25)
DE - Julius Peppers - 94 (24) / Kenechi Uduze - 81 (21) / Will Smith - 80 (23) / Jarret Johnson - 65 (23)
OLB - Terrell Suggs - 87 (21) / D.J. Williams - 80 (22) / Jason Babin - 74 (24) / Demorrio Williams - 69 (24)
MLB - Jonathan Vilma - 81 (22) / Courtney Watson - 71 (23)
CB - Andre Dyson - 87 (25) / Marcus Trufant - 86 (23) / Sammy Davis - 80 (24) / Chris Gamble - 77 (21) / Jason David - 67 (22)
SS - Ed Reed - 97 (25) / Stuart Schweigert - 73 (23)
FS - Roy Williams - 95 (23) / Bob Sanders - 79 (23)

My draft order was:

1) LaDainian Tomlinson (HB) (25) - 98
2) Julius Peppers (DE) (24) - 94
3) Bryant McKinnie (T) (24) - 92
4) Albert Haynesworth (DT) (23) - 90
5) Roy Williams (FS) (23) - 95
6) Ed Reed (SS) (25) - 97
7) Andre Dyson (CB) (25) - 87
8) Terrell Suggs (OLB) (21) - 87
9) Marcus Trufant (CB) (23) - 86
10) Kareem McKenzie (T) (25) - 85
11) Eli Manning (QB) (23) - 81
12) Jeremy Shockey (TE) (23) - 95
13) Tyrone Calico (WR) (23) - 82
14) Reggie Williams (WR) (21) - 80
15) Shawn Andrews (G) (21) - 82
16) Kenechi Uduze (DE) (21) - 81
17) Steve Sciullo (G) (23) - 83
18) D.J. Williams (OLB) (22) - 80
19) Rashad Woods (WR) (23) - 77
20) Jonathan Vilma (MLB) (22) - 81
21) Jeff Faine (C) (23) - 84
22) Justin Griffith (FB) (23) - 84
23) Sammy Davis (CB) (24) - 80
24) Chris Gamble (CB) (21) - 77
25) Bob Sanders (FS) (23) - 79
26) Tommie Harris (DT) (20) - 82
27) Will Smith (DE) (23) - 80
28) Kevin Jones (HB) (22) - 78
29) Drew Henson (QB) (24) - 76
30) Michael Clayton (WR) (21) - 76
etc...

I run lots of dime and quarter coverages, as well as the occasional goal line defense for the run-happy teams. So as soon as I have my starters set, I immediately go after a #3 CB, #4 CB, #2 FS, and #3 DE. Then I snag my #2 QB, #2 HB, and #4 WR. After that, it's pretty much a crapshoot.

So far my team is 3-1. I can't wait until all these guys mature... championship city! It's a very fun team to play with, definitely my favorite of all the drafts I've done over the years.

Re: Fantasy draft for Franchise

Nice draft. My team had many of the same players. Bob Sanders balooned up to a 95+ for me after a few years. LT had 95 speed, 99btk, 99agil, 99accel, 99cth, 99carry after 4 or 5 years.

Re: Fantasy draft for Franchise

I don't do Fantasy Drafts for my Franchise, I just play with the team's regular rosters, to me I like it more.
