I think you meant to say don't "overuse" it, didn't you?

The speed button is essential. Using it from start to finish during a running play is not wise, however. The best thing to do is to time it just right and use the speed button right when you feel you have a slight edge in angle or when your lead blocker is about to make a block to spring you.

Patience and practice are the keys to successful running. Know the plays and the blocking schemes, making sure that you do not overrun your blockers.

You have to remember, also, that sometimes you won't be able to run at all while at other times you can. That's football.

I'm able to average at least 100 yards a game with the Browns, which is about average for them. Find a team with a terrible rush defense-- Detroit, for example-- and practice using them. That'll give you a little confidence.

Re: Running on All Pro

I've noticed something about the running game in madden (esp on all-pro). I haven't seen this a lot...but a few times (and i apologize if its been posted else where) but the blocking can be frustrating sometimes. To elaborate on that, sometimes i will have a blocker out in front of me and i'll be waiting for him to block the defensive man. Instead of blocking for me, he'll just kinda stand there and allow the defensive man to tackle me. Has anyone else noticed this?

Use the playmaker feature and send your blocker where you want him to go.

Re: Running on All Pro

I can't pass to save my life but I am averaging about 80 yards rushing online so I will offer any tips that I have.

Wait to snap the ball until your center points out the blocks, if possible. This actually does help.

Do not snap the ball on the same count every time, the defense gets a jump on you and you'll get hit in the backfield.

Send people in motion to clear out the lane you want to run in, or to overload the lane depending on man or zone coverage.

Be patient and follow your blockers. You may only average a few yards per carry but you will break one, especially with Bennett who is blazing fast.

I do, however, think that the running backs are a little easy to bring down from behind. I play with the Bills and Henry is great at breaking tackles but I will fall from cornerbacks pretty regularly.

Re: Running on All Pro

I had such a pain in the butt time running the ball on All-Pro, so I decided to switch it to All-Madden since a lot of people were saying that's it's pretty good level to play on.

I kept the same slider settings I was using on all-pro... I can run now and run pretty well. I'm using Cory Dillion. The only downside is that Passing got a lot tougher, but that's cool.

So if anyone's having problems running on All-Pro, sersiously turn the level up to All-Madden... let me know if it's just me going nuts.

You aren't nuts, it's DEFINITELY easier to run on All Madden, but a lot harder to pass.
