I am having a hard time understanding this. If that's the case, then why is Philip Rivers in the game? Last time I checked, San Diego shut down contract negotiations with Rivers and his agent.
I am by no means saying you're wrong... I'm just confused about the explanation.
I think they are two separate things. Lavar Arrington wasn't with the NFLPA for a while(if I remember correctly, he was in it last year, I may be wrong though). You can have a contract and not be in the NFLPA or you can be unsigned and be in the NFLPA. I am pretty sure they are two separate issues, most players join up the NFLPA pretty quickly after being drafted, I don't think it's a really big issue at all, some guys just choose not to be a part of it.
