I totally agree with this. The running game is infinitely better in ESPN.
I also don't feel Madden's defensive AI is all that brilliant. I played DB for years, and even watching all the NFL games I can handle, I've never seen the reactions and superjumps that Madden's DB's/LB's make on a regular basis. There is just no way every back and LB can react as if each of them saw the exact moment when the ball was being thrown to a reciever, and all converge on the ball at warp 7 while jumping sometimes 5' in the air to block a pass that was nowhere near them.
I'm also not getting the whole route option deal. Only certain offensive coordinators use that system. Is this available to every team in the game? If not, feel free to correct me.
The hitstick is cool, although I honestly don't use it constantly, only under certain conditions.
I'm usually a Madden guy, I've bought it pretty much every year since the Genesis days; this is really the first year I've favored ESPN. Even with its problems in franchise and INTs.
