CPU clock management
Played the game quite a bit this weekend....couple of disturbing things about the CPU that was not in prior versions of the game:
1. I am the Giants. Game 2 of the season, Redskins are up 31-24, they get the ball with 1:45 left in the game, I have one time out and figure that I am toast. First play a run play, I put in my defensive play very quickly..to my suprise with :25 left on the play call, the CPU calls a pass play...3rd down...CPU again calls a pass play...they punt the ball to me and I tie up the game....What the hell??????? Madden always did a good job about running out the clock, etc....I thought one of their goals was to eliminate all kinds of bad playcalling by the CPU. A similar thing happened in the first game of the season against the Eagles, the CPU called a play very quickly without letting the play call get down to :05 or so. What I am focused on is not so much the run v. pass but the CPU's inability to run the game clock down.
2. The Redskins gameplan was god awful and unrealistic. Ramsey (why was he starting over Brunell) threw the ball for 45 times and Portis ran it for 13, but running was like afterthought.
I play with 12 minute quarters and accelerated clock. I hope this bad CPU clock management is not a regular thing. Come on EA, this is the one thing we count on for you to do well given that the graphics are ugly.
