i got better...but im kindda bummed

after my post last night regarding "players run faster when controlled by cpu vs controlled by speed bursting human"........i switched defensive strats.

i USED to hit x (switch man) button on every play...especially onc eball went airborn...so i could control my db...and get him in position to make play.


lets just say my record was 4-9 avg giving up 24ppg.


tonight...played the line or strong safetey...and NEVER hit x until END of play pretty much.....especially let cpu make the INSANE batted down plays deep which i previous did myself. in 3 games i gave up 0 tds and 2 fg's.


wow im better (actually im worse b/c i do much less now and enjoy playing D much less...thank god offense is so darn fun)

i think you put the wrong post . . . this belongs in the ESPN forum.

espn has NO control of any defense. its all cpu

I agree with the original poster. If you take control of the defender more often than not you get burned. If you let them make the incredible jumps you are in pretty good shape. Im not bashing the game just posting what I see happening in my games.

Your men do slow down ALOT when you take control of them which in some cases negates all that wonderful control you have over your DB. Madden needs something Like the Y button in ESPN. Where you dont have to necessarily take control of a DB to get him to react to the ball. Just press Y when you think the DB should go after the ball and he will go after it. That way momentum and slowing down wont interfere with you making a good play on the ball.

I find it different. I mean, there is a noticeable slowdown - but nothing to bad. I control my db everytime andI do the "insane" ball swats. If you push the L button (Xbox) and go after the ball instead of going for the interception everytime - it's a lot more effective.

Just my opinion though...
