I've had the computer pinch and spread their line. Not often mind you, but it has happened. As for the stuff with the audibles, thats happened in Madden as long as I can remember.

No this makes no since.
Why, of all the times they could stack the line would they pick to do it on a 4 wide set second and long? I gaurantee if I had picked a pass play that same exact time they would not have stacked the line, period. Yes they could have made a switch to another D once I audibled but that's not the problem.
The problem is 90% of the time no matter what you pick they know what's coming.
I can pick a tight formation on 3rd and short and select a pass play and they will play the pass. If I would have picked a run play they would play a run d, period.

lol. Not saying that you are Pared, but i cant believe anyone would attempt to defend the way the AI behaves in audible/playcalling situations. It's flat out lazy, cheating programming.

exactly, and i'm done acting like an idiot, which i was, so, apologies, i think our goal here is to just discuss the game, see what the problems are and maybe fix them or something, actually i don't know what the point is, but you have to admit, this version of madden is frustrating in some areas

can we at least come to the conclusion that the cpu knows your play most of the time? it seems obvious but some madden fans don't want to accept that, and i don't care if they do and don't feel like arguing, to me the case is closed, the cpu cheats like this and I know it, case closed for me

i still like the game, and i like it better than espn by far, i was just venting

I'm in that same minority. Madden graphics...of course the lighting which is incredible...but also *gasp* the player models IMo are done quite well. Love the helmets/facemasks and the way the players faces are shadowed (even though the shadows aren't cast in real time). I like the variety of player builds but that's nothing new in Madden. Player scaling, except for the larger linemen, looks pretty solid to me. Also, the shoulder pads twist and move seperately from the body...even the numbers on the jersey's contort with the player's movement...looks very nice.

And for some reason I also like Madden's post-play cutscenes...although they're not really cutscenes but instead just all part of the onfield post-play stuff. Watching real games, IMO Madden isn't that far off in this regard. I like the quick cuts and seamless transition from the end of the play to the whatever celebrations, etc the player(s) are doin. Overall, It's Nowhere near nfl2k5's presentation but it's dam good in it's own right..especially compared to previous versions of Madden.

Yeah, I'm not defending, just trying to figure out if there is some logic "under the hood." It does seem as if it's the same as years passed, ONLY THIS YEAR the AI won't reshift if you use playmaker to flip your run play....
