The Comeback Code "its in the game"

It seems to me the AI works around a 'formula' based on the score, and the time left on the clock. If there is enough time left, the CPU will play tough and try to keep the score close. But I think if you are up by as many as 14 late in the game, the CPU will quit (by letting you run up the score).

Last night I played the Pats in the Divisional Playoffs. The score remained close (3 points) at the end of the 3rd. Then the CPU kicked in the "There's No F****** Way You Are Going To Win" code (I stole that from the Sports Guy on ESPN.com's Page2). The Pats and I combined for 49 points), but I came out on top in a squeaker. What a game. Love those.

It's not just one fumble or one INT though. If that's all that happened, fine.

But it's 4 fumbles in 3 possessions or something like that.

I'd still like to complain about the Joe Montana comeback logic to Dwight Clark that killed my Cowboys in that NFC championship game back in the 80's

And they obviously didn't remove the comeback logic four years later when he killed Bengals fan's dreams too.

If this were the case, then wouldn't this be applicable to real life as well? Don't you see (for the most part) teams that are still in games playing hard every down and teams that are completely out of it pretty much mail in the loss?

i'm sure joe caused multiple fumbles and ints and muffed kicks as well as got a first down on every 1 and 10 and recovered several onside kicks huh?

the funny thing is people wanna pretend like this no way in hell will you win ai is realistic.
