NFL and players extend labor agreement
New York, NY (Sports Network) - The NFL and its players' association have come to an accord on extending the collective bargaining agreement through 2007.

The NFL Management Council and players' association agreed there will be a salary cap through the 2006 season, but the final year of the contract will not have a cap. Players could get an increase in salary as high as 65.5 percent of designated gross revenues in 2005.


The old contract was scheduled to expire after the 2004 season
The NFL business model continues to rest on its underpinning of sharing nearly 85 percent of total revenues -- the most of any sport. This unprecedented partnership with the players has allowed the salary cap to increase to over $80 million for the first time in NFL history (and nearly $2 million higher than the $78.7 million figure that teams had been projecting for 2004-2005).

Maybe it's just me, but I thought that managing the salary cap was extremely difficult in that "other" game. I play both games, btw.
