Unhappy What happened to the long ball?

Is anyone else having trouble completing long passes. I've tried everything(even Randy Moss) and the cpu DB's still jump 10 feet in the air and swat down passes when their one on one w/ my WR. Does anyone have a fix for this? This also happens when they try to jam my WR. My WR will beat their bump but they will catch up.

It frustrated me for a long time, too, but it can be done. You have to sort of reprogram yourself to think in terms of Madden D, not real life D. In real life, a lot of those passes would be completions, in Madden, the superjump results in a swat. Streaks are admittedly hard to complete, but I'm managing one every game or so.

For starters, get the running game going early. That definitely helps set up the playaction pass. That's usually your best bet for 1-on-1 and a completion.

Second, read the D. If you have man-to-man, it is very hard to complete the streak. Zone is a different story. I find if I have a safety coming in to defend, I have a much better chance of completing the bomb. Also try overloaded formations like trips wide, where you have a better chance of a nickel back or even LB on your receiver.

Throw underneath more than you go deep. If you keep going deep, you probably won't complete a lot of passes. You have to nibble, nibble, nibble, then mix in a deep throw.

Last bit of advice, lead with the D pad. Also, if you can, switch to your receiver and try and manually make the catch or manuever into better position. It's hard but it can be done.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try throwing deep when I have a quick WR matched up w/ a LB orwhen the cpu throws a zone at me.
