I just hope they put gloves on Armanti Edwards. He's not a QB anymore he's a receiver now.

I guarantee they didn't take him in the 3rd simply for his WR skills.

Sorry to tell you, because I am a Carolina Fan, but they did. They passed on Mardy Gilyard to draft a punt returner / slot receiver.

Meow...relax. I didn't say he WASN'T a WR...I know he is. I just don't think it is smart to take a QB and convert him to WR with a 3rd round pick. Whatever works.

Then again, Dwayne Jarrett was a 2nd, so anything can happen.

yeah I have to agree, I mean they took Clausen, then Tony Pike. They already have Matt Moore who could end up being their franchise guy, and Hunter Cantwell who has a strong arm. Unless the Panthers know something we don't involving something very bad happening to most of their QBs, I think Edwards is a WR and nothing more. As far as I know they did not have him throw at RTAs, mini camp or training camp.

Right. I understand that they are loaded with QB prospects. However, an option play or two isn't out of the question, and I was simply trying to say (in the wrong way, I admit) that a 3rd round project pick is a little bit of a reach. PR is a more likely instant impact than at WR, but I liked Armanti as a Mountaineer and I always have liked Carolina (minus 2003, lol) so I'll be pulling for him.

He's a WR in the game,he's actually Carolina's 3rd best WR in the game.

Yeah you have a point there. They could do something with him in the wild cat maybe. I think that Edwards did play WR in high school so he has some kind of background in the position but he as a lot to learn. IIRC he had a really low 40 time either at his proday or the combine, if he learns how to catch he could become positively dangerous if he is fast enough to separate from corners and get open. I would really like to see what Moore can do with Carolina this year.
