I was curious about it, so I decided to open up a draft class file in a hex editor and see what there was. Now I'm no expert on it, and I've never actually hex edited something before but I did find some similarities that would be interesting if someone changed.
After you scroll down a bit, you'll find an area that looks like this.

It's consistent all the way through, so it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out what equals what. One thing that I noticed is the numbers that I highlighted. After each player name, there is some blank space, then a value of 03, another space, then a number. I highlighted it above. The top players are 63, then 62, and it keeps going all the way down until the bottom...

Just guessing, I assume that it has something to do with either when the player is drafted or when they are projected to go. I really want to test it out, but I can't because my flash drive isn't working for some reason. If anyone else has any insight or information, feel free to pitch in. I think it would be cool to somehow use this to find a way to make the draft classes as realistic as possible.

Add to that a Braves & Nashville Predators fan as well. I'm scattered all over the map with sports teams.
