Re: Zero Custom HUM/CPU FRANCHISE SLIDERS! by: dfos81

Just finished my game. Was a competitive, back-and-forth kind of game. The AI actually outproduced my team on offense. I think my defense came up with enough stops to force FG attempts and shut down their comeback attempt.

They also made a pretty questionable decision to go for it on 4th down deep in their territory. It was still over 2 minutes left and they had all three time outs. I think kicking it away and counting on the defense would have been better instead of risking giving me a short field. They did, and I turned it into 3 more points to make it a two possession game AND they still used up their timeouts.

I think 3rd down did them in. They were just 3 for 17 on 3rd down.

SD did win the time of possession battle. That doesn't happen often in games where the AI has the ball more. They even had more penalties, which is also rare (5 for 50 yds. I had 3 for 35 yds)

Final score was OAK (me) 27, SD 17.

Passing:
Sanchez was bad. Again. I might have to stop drafting him LOL. He did get zero help from Britt (5 freaking drops and some other awful routes), and got 2 TDs, one on a short slant at the goal line when Crabtree got inside position. The other off playaction over the middle (Crabtree ACTUALLY FINISHED THE ROUTE AND WENT FOR THE BALL. YOU HEAR THAT BRITT), and he split the safeties on the run after the catch for a 50 yd TD.
Sanchez: 14/34, 191 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT, 67.1 Rating

For the Chargers, Leinart heated up in the second half. Part of it was him exploiting the flats while some of it was my defense starting to give up some bigger runs after the catch (bad tackling). Also didn't help that Peterson was getting it going after we closed him down in the 2nd and half the 3rd quarter.
Leinart: 23/44, 329, 1 TD, 1 INT, 74.9 Rating

Rushing:
Pound, pound, pound. I don't think I got a single big run all game. It was shove it in there for 3 here, 4 here, 2 here, 6 there. They had Wilfork and it felt like it. Their LBs were fast too. Wells was able to finish off our 4th quarter TD drive on a run, though, as we finally created some more consistent space.
Wells: 29 carries, 105 yds (3.6 per carry) 1 TD.
McCoy: 3 carries, 5 yds

Peterson was annoying. Even when we shut him down he was annoying. Refused to go down after a hit or two or three. If my LBs weren't fast, it probably would have been trouble. Even then, he started breaking out again, and had a couple 10+ yard runs. Not sure why they didn't use him more, though.
Peterson: 16 carries, 79 yds (4.9 per carry), 0 TD.
Fargas: 5 carries, 17 yds

Receiving:
FRUSTRATION. That sums it up. Thank goodness Crabtree showed up to play. Britt was drop after drop after bad route. Maclin couldn't get open to save his life.
Crabtree: 5 rec, 97 yds, 19.4 avg. 2 TD, 0 Drops
Fiametta: 2 rec, 19 yds, 9.5 avg, 0 Drops
Maclin: 2 rec, 30 yds, 15 avg, 0 Drops
Cook Jr: 2 rec, 10 yds, 5 avg, 0 Drops
Britt: 2 rec, 27 yds, 13.5 avg, 6 Drops
McCoy: 1 rec, 8 yds
Wells, 0 rec, 1 Drop

For the Chargers, their FULLBACK had 94 yds on 5 rec. Gotta love the flats crap. Thanks a lot EA. They didn't drop many, my DBs just covered them well most of the time.
Toomer: 5 rec, 113 yds, 0 TD (almost had one to end the first half, but my 90+ SP CB caught him from behind)
Weaver: 5 rec, 94 yds, 1 TD (on a long catch and run, no less)
Peterson: 3 rec, 33 yds
Winslow: 3 rec, 41 yds
bunch of other guys for 1 or 2 rec (it's a lot, he really spread the ball around, 10 different receivers)

His catching rating is 78, not great, but there's worse for sure. I never would have thought he'd drop that many balls in a single game. Has Catch In Traffic rating is 83, so I figure he should be have decent hands.

Nice stats. Peterson(4.9 avg cpu)
Wells (3.6avg hum)

I like seeing that the cpu actually controlled the clock better and even had more yards.

If you think about it, Lienart may only be able to dump it off anyway.
Let me know when play a more aggressive offense w/ a better qb and I bet they win! lol. Jk

For the guys just reading in. We are currently testing slow set on pg. 80 post #794.

I just need a lil more feedback to start a new thread for the Slow set. Thanks in for all the help.

Another thing I wanted to mention was,
for the guys that use a fantasy team please specify in your stats that its a fantasy team.
I see the scores 1st and look at stats but it could make better stat sense knowing who's really on the team.
Now w/ in depth feedback that KBlover gave me I know its a fantasy team but,
for those that give lil info, at least let us know if it was a fantasy team or not. If it was a fantasy team then point out the main guys, stats, etc.

Not calling anybody out, just want to help. Thanks

Back to testing......
