Re: Schnaidt1's Patch 2 slider update, new way of creating sliders! must read

Okay I started my franchise, simmed the preseason games (just manually made the cuts) and played the first regular season game, Panthers (me) at Cardinals.

I'm going to take back what I said about the running game being too easy, my running game got completely shut out by the Cards defense.

I had Newton injured and the Cardinals had their top two QBs injured as well.

Team Stats (Panthers/Cardinals)

Score : 14/29
Tot Offense : 306/250
Rush Yds : 25/67
Pass Yds : 281/183
1st Downs : 14/12
Tot Yds : 459/289
Turnovers : 6/0
Possession Time : 19'43"/20'17"

Player Stats :

PASSING:
J.Clausen : 24/41 - 306 yds - 67.7 rat - 2 td - 3 int - 7.4 avg - 49 lng
-----------------------------
M.Hall : 17/36 - 197 yds - 82.7 rat - 2 td - 0 int - 5.4 avg - 30 lng

RUSHING:
D.Williams : 15 att - 26 yds - 1.7 avg - 10 lng
J.Stewart : 2 att - 2 yds
J.Clausen : 1 att - -3 yds
-----------------------------
B.Wells : 17 att - 61 yds - 3.5 avg - 18 lng
C.Taylor : 3 att - 7 yds
R.Williams : 3 att - 1 yd
M.Hall - 1 att - -2 yds

5 FG for Arizona, 0 for me.

I had a lot of turnovers in this one, 3 ints and 3 fumbles. The fumbles really sealed my fate here as one was a muffed punt recoverd by Arizona on my 20 yds line and another was the result of a sack on Clausen and was recoverd on my 10 yds line.

So overall the sliders played really well and I should have more balanced scores if I'm not plagued with fumbles next time.

I'm also glad about the number of sacks being OK (I had 2 here) because I used to have like 7 sacks a game in my previous franchise (my sliders were 20 user pass rush and 80 cpu pass block then so it's weird i find it so much harder now)

Thanks again for these sliders, I probably won't post every single game I play here but I'll definitly keep you posted if I have more thoughts on this !

I LOVE the empirical methodology! That's a great way to approach things. Gonna take a look soon.

4th quarter 3:58 - (NYG) L. Tynes, 50 field goal.

- Notes -
The gameplay seemed solid. Passing was challenging but fair. Ditto with running. Bradshaw ended up with 197 yards, because I had back-to-back 40-yard runs with him in the fourth quarter (one almost went for 99... that would've skewed things). Omitting those, he averaged a robust -- but realistic -- 4.6 yards per attempt. My biggest beef was with the opposing offense; the Redskins couldn't muster squat offensively. At one point, they were 0 for 8 on third downs, and 60+ of those 110 passing yards they had came on a handful of plays in the final quarter. Washington couldn't run, couldn't pass, and wouldn't have even come close to scoring if it wasn't for an Eli Manning fumble and a Santana Moss jump ball down the field. The final score, 33-10, wasn't as bad as it could've been. I think if I was a little quicker with Eli Manning's arm, I might've won 47-3.

There's definitely something here, however. The sliders feel good, they just need some adjustments. I'll try to tweak them to fit my style.

Yeah, the Skins are a bad team. If they don't get a run game going, you can pressure Grossman into lots of mistakes. You can also exploit their backers in coverage, but their run D should theoretically be pretty good. I love their LBs.

Testing these now. Are there adjustments to the special teams sliders?
