Why doesn't EA comment on sliders?

Guys from EA are on these forums regularly. They pick and choose when to comment, what to reply to.

I can see how they would ignore the many posters who are hostile and immature. But, the slider guys are a good group. We just want the best playing game.

Why won't anyone from the Madden team help us with the sliders?

I feel like I've asked this question year after year and they have never helped us understand sliders. Until EA tells us what means what, every theory is just a theory.

I don't have an axe to grind with EA. I've said plenty of positive about the game but I'm feeling a bit put off that I spend 85 dollars (season ticket)every year for this product and I can't get accurate info on all the slider theories.

I also wonder if people at EA use there own slider sets.

I know there are people who speculate that they are lazy and they don't. But, I can't imagine that.

I personally don't think they are lazy. If the guys on the Madden team are anything like most of us they take pride in their product. I'm thinking they do tinker with sliders. I mean, wouldn't they have to?

That said, I also feel they are in the best position to explain how the sliders work.

The Pass Reaction Slider and its affects is the most highly debated/theorized slider right now. How easy would it be for one of the game makers to tell us the differences in 50, 0, and 100?

Also, at what point does slider tweaking nullify player rating?
Does ANY slider configuration affect the CPU's play calling?

I think there are guys here who communicate with some on the Madden team. I hope they invite these guys to jump into the slider discussions.

I'm not aware of any company who won't explain how a product works, especially since they post on other topics that are not as important.

So true. Lol. I want someone from EA to tell me why I see the same play with pass reaction at 0 and 100

What is going on with sliders this year? I've never seen so many different results

How many more slider theories have developed since I asked this question?

We still have no answers as EA still has not commented.

Well any smart person knows,..that EA team is NOT going to tell us anything bout sliders,..N for sure NOT going to tell us where to set them,.Cause EA would have there job,.We all know if one of them comment on sliders and it don't work the way we want it to,.first thing we will do is put the Blame in them so I think it's very Smart for them not to comment,..I sure would not just for that reason

Yeah, I'm sure its against company policy to make any comment on sliders. Weird way to look at it, but leaving sliders as an unknown creates the vibe that everyone us right. Just look at the slider forum, every year, everyone releases a set that they deem "the most realistic" even though they all look insanely different. That keeps them all buying the game. If however, EA were to come out and say "this set is the most realistic", there's no way that both Jarrod, and SEC for example, would both buy the game.

So its company policy to not comment on any slider related questions? Its hurting them more, how can you not ease the chaos of the slider situation which causes more of a bad name for your team? Thats insane man, if I released a product that had options to tweak it, I'd rather let the community in on the knowledge I have instead of sitting back and take fire from everyone other than fanboys who say the product is immaculate... Im just lost this year, I started up an All Pro CCM without any tweaks and the no switch/run commit rule yet still no CPU Running Game, still every week 3 or more teams almost hit 50 and guys throw for more than 400 yds... But, the Sim running numbers look good. I just dont know why its not represented when User VS CPU takes place...

NO WAY bro, the only reason these guys work so hard on sliders is to create realistic yet challenging gameplay. If EA would release a set or just out of the box realism and challenge they would have life a lot easier and enjoy the game they pay for instead of work on the game they pay for... If the game played great out of the box guys wouldn't buy it because they won't have to work on sliders lol that is ridiculous...

You're missing my point. If EA came out and said "the game won't get anymore realistic then this" anyone who doesn't feel it's realistic enough will withhold buying the game. On the other hand, with this method, we're all trying each and every set that goes up (more or less) in an attempt to see just how realistic the game can be with the right set.

And its not that those two wouldn't buy the game because they don't have to work for it. Imagine if EA came out with a set, that had CPU sliders a lot higher the the user's (ala Jarrod), SEC wouldn't buy it because he believes in in equality. On the other hand, if EA claims that the most realistic set has threshold at 100, and user sliders equal to the CPU's, Jarrod wouldn't find the game difficult enough.

I'm not wondering why EA doesn't tellus what they think is balanced/realistic.

I'm asking them to tell us what happens when we increase or decrease a slider. What effect does it have? When do sliders nullify player ratings? Does any slider/combination influence the CPU playcalling?

These should not be hidden from us.

Just an opinion..I believe they don't comment on it..cause they don't have the complete answer nor never will..I believe they have patched and patched the game so much over the years.. they aren't completely sure if and what each slider effects anymore...the "base" mechanics of the game was written several games ago...so they can't comment cause they don't know..again just my guess

I completely agree with above post.

So this is what I think they should do patch the **** out of this game and make it good enough and then they should take a year off and resume with madden 15 or something and rewrite the entire system!

NFL license prevents EA from taking a year off.

Anyway, there isn't a sports game I own that I don't fiddle with sliders for awhile. I may play differently than the other 5 million users.

Ian told us a few years ago the game was tested on All-Pro. Not sure if that is still true.

Fiddle with sliders for awhile? Are you kidding me? Like I stated in another thread, Madden Gurus are still tweaking sliders 11 months later, one month before the next Madden comes out. That's ridiculous! I tweak sliders for MLB The Show, and hit on a good set, and I'm done, ready to play a season. It's never that way with Madden.
