    Training Camp

Just curious....since the cpu does not send it's players through training camp, does anyone here just skip training camp instead of taking an unfair advantage over the cpu?
I decided to online use rookies, and and 1 veteran in training camp, and I have to go all the way to all madden level, never stopping and just taking points.
Anyone have some of their own rules they'd like to share?

Since the progression is already a little out of hand, I only do the rookie level on the drills. And I'm thinking of dropping some that don't make sense. For example, it is highly unlikely that my kicker would develop more leg strength after 10 yrs in the league.

What's rediculous is how it's easy to make a player who is already good better than it is to make a young player better. They still use the attributes in the game. So I can easily up Laverneous Coles's ratings before Rosco Parish's(3rd year of dynasty)... same goes with making Clinton Portis even better than making Lorenzo Booker, my rookie, better... it's a little rediculous.

I definitely agree with that. You have to already have a pretty accurate QB to get any pts on the precision passing. Doesn't make much sense.

I play with my buddy in a franchise, Training camps can only be done with players that have less than 3 years played in the NFL. It still gives us a chance to use them, and puts more emphasis on younger players on the team. We also have no player trades (picks for picks only) no restructuring contracts, Player must be released to offseason free agency before resigning to a backloaded contract. These tend to prevent us from having to of an unfair advantage over the cpu.

                        Re: Training Camp

I just do the rookie level for each of the drills unless I really need to boost a player up bigtime to fill a hole. Usually I just send my drafted players through camp to get them closer to the ability of a starter. Sometimes I'll send a valuable aging player through camp to help slow his decline.

I follow the 3 year experience rule as well. I like the idea of releasing to free agency before resigning idea. I may try that out in my current franchise.

What other unofficial rules do people play by in franchise? I know in mine I don't trade players for picks. After season 1 I could have gotten a first rounder for Kurt Warner but chose not to as this would never happen in real life.
