Madden 07 (PC)

Since my little brother has gotten his xbox back and I'm not sure exactly when I'll be able to get a 360 I'm thinking of picking up Madden 07 for the pc. How good a game is it...really?

Some (many that I know) would argue that it's the best version of them all. A high end PC will make it absolutely beautiful, and combine it with a good gamepad (wired 360 controller maps the A, B, X, Y buttons, etc...color coded even) and it's wonderful. It's the one I play the most, and I have all versions other than Playstations...Xbox, 360, Wii, and PC.

Next gen graphics are better and the PSP looks like it has better animations then the pc version. Its good for a quick fix of football. I personally am having trouble getting realistic sliders. my .02

It's the same engine as the XBox and PS2 versions, how are the animations worse somehow? And sliders are the same as well. Bizarre.

Well, as far as sliders go, Redwolf and his testers over at footballfreaks has already developed some coach mode sliders so I'd be okay on that front. I'm really just looking for a football fix so I'll probably check out amazon or something.

One other quick question. I won't be able to get the game and a controller at the same time so since I'll be playing coach mode anyway, would it be possible to play with the keyboard?

You should be ok with the keyboard for Coach Mode. If you are playing games with the players, I'd suggest picking up the USB device that allows you to use your PS2 controller as a PC controller (works great, check out radio shack).

Daggumit. I just gave my brother an old ps2 controller because I haven't owned a ps2 in over a year. I think he may have traded it in to ebgames to buy himself a new xbox controller. I need to call him now.

I picked it up...I really like it...playing with keyboard and mouse now...will probably pick up ps2 controller usb adapter tomorrow

I *really* recommend a wired 360 controller - it works perfectly with Madden PC and even has "A" "X" etc symbols in game.

That would be an option but I'm gonna buy a 360 within a month and most of my gaming time will then be dedicated to College Hoops 2k7. Plus, don't those things cost about 30 bucks? That adapter is $11.99 at radio shack and I've got an old psx controller. Since I play coach mode that should suffice. I may need a dual shock though so that I can flip the running play at the line.

If college hoops and ncaa were on pc I'd be a convert because I'm absolutely loving all the possible customization. For example, editing the .db file to get the demo camera for coach mode...sheer joy.

I just started playing pc but I think it is. Over on madden mania I've seen several threads about coach mode leagues. I'm not sure though. I've got a partner out in cali that I'm waiting to bang on. Once, I get a controller and learn how to setup online stuff I'll be game to play.
