    PS2 Franchise User Rules

I remember last year or the year before someone had a spreadsheet that laid out the rules for controlling all 32 teams during franchise mode. It told you how to handle the advertising, how to handle free agency/re-signing player, and how to draft. Does anyone still have that set and if so, does it work with 2008 for the PS2?

If not, does anyone have any suggestions on how to user control the franchise mode so the computer doesn't relocate teams, draft players they don't need, and not release players they shouldn't?

Thanks in advance if anyone can help on this. The game was nearly perfect when this was used in the past.

I ran a couple searches with no luck...

I control all 32, along with Owner mode during the season (max out all advertising for at least the first 3 weeks and manually do the Appreciation Day promotions in the first 4 weeks or so)...this keeps teams from moving.

I also manually pick the franchise players for all teams, the RFA's and resign 2-3 players per team that have contracts that have expired...the rest test the FA market...

I let the CPU control the FA signing period, so it's competitive.

You have to control at least the first 3 rounds of the draft for everyone...

Then before the next season, you have to make sure the rosters are balanced...cut some players if need be and then do roster fills from the remaining FA's...

I try to sign players that have played for a particular team in the past for the above...or rookies that have been cut by other teams...

You also have to max out the interest bar when signing to try and use up the cap $$$, which is always too high...

    That's all I can remember...

Hopefully that spreadsheet will turn up...

The sim engine is the same, so the offseason one should be as well...

        Re: PS2 Franchise User Rules

        Braindead's Owner Mode Advertising Strategy.

At the beginning of the regular season go to......OWNER'S BOX/SET PRICES/ADVERTISING.

For all teams 1st home games.....Max Advertising for TV, Radio, Newspaper and Billboards.(Don't forget to reset to zero when they are playing away).

For each teams 2nd home game....Again, Max Advertising as above + max Fan Appreciation Day (250k) + lower all Ticket, Concession, Merchandise and Parking prices by 2 clicks.(Again, don't forget to reset all advertising and prices as you go).

What you do when each team has played their 2nd home game, is up to you. It will depend on your style, own personal taste, your patience, how each particular team are performing, therefore knowing when to stop all advertising/price manipulation and when to restart it.
        Schwartzky's additional Tips*
        1. Sign an advertising arrangement for those teams that made the least money. This will hopefully give them some extra income so don't go overboard and pick the one that gives them 15 mil when they go to the Super Bowl pick the easiest deal (usually like 8 wins).
        2. Purchase as many upgrades as you can for any stadium that is rated below excellent

Does anyone happen to still have the documents that went with this post?
**Never mind, found it as an attachment near the end of the monster thread.
