It's the same story every year; people expect drastic changes, but in reality there are rarely any. If you think the final build will be drastically different, you're going to be in for a surprise come August.

I'm definately not impressed with this year's Madden.. Looks more arcade-ish every year and gameplay changes are minimal every year.. Instead we get features that were in last-gen Madden and things that should have already been in the game 3 years ago.

I'm very frustrated with the EA team.

Im not expecting drastic differences but I am expecting to see improvement. for one the game is under new management, two its a pre alpha build. May be that does not mean much to you but this is supposed to be the buggy build of the game. From the initial excitement of pastapadre on his play through today (he hated 08 after last yrs community day) and Ian Cummings listening and making some improvements in which he backed up, I expect madden 09 to be a good game.

Re: New Vids on IGN 5/30

As I stated before, this appears to be a well dressed same old Madden gameplay. One or two new animations. Per the RB animation they touted in the so called new animation vid with Peterson, so far I have not seen that in any gameplay vid yet. Is it me, but the folks who are playing this game (per the vids) is pass happy!! Is there a reason for this?? Is there a running game??

I see EA is falling in love with the cut at the knees tackle. Hmmm, looks like we will be seeing a lot of that

Where is the field Degradation????

We need to get Ian to respond on this for both NCAA and Madden because all NG games have had it in so far

I love watching the field get chewed up, and the players getting all dirty...I'll be really disappointed if this doesn't make it in to either game.

It would just be another thing that would take me out of the experience

I'm not gonna disagree. But I guess I'm wondering where everyone's been for all of the info being shared. Ian broke down a whole ago what's in, what's out and is getting info together about ideas for the future. Why now are guys coming on here saying "man, theres no pocket.""Dang, it's the same line play as 02.." We all know this and have accepted it. Now stuff is getting tweaked. Also convered in great length for those of us that have been invoved in the whole Ian interaction. But there's a few things not fixed this year. And it'll turn people off. Can't be helped. But we have a dog in the fight now and some input that'll hopefully get this game moving towards where it needs to be. But that really doesn't help this year. How about coming up with some doable ideas to contribute? It'll help....
