It better not be a "Press X really Fast" type of thing or I'm really gonna be p1$$ed.
For the record, can we get it in writing that Madden will NEVER EVER EVER EVER again implement a "Press this button really fast" type of feature?
They did that in Madden 08 for the PS2 when breaking a tackle oon occasion and I simply could not believe it. -

Do you guys go to a cutscene and give us something ala mortal combat breaking bricks and boards by button smashing?
Im not really sure what way we have here to best determine who wins in this fight in the pile or how the situation will play out, maybe someone else will come in and have some better ideas on this than I do, because all I can think up here is button smashing, I mean think of how it goes down in real life, its a real life button smashing of ripping and hitting and jarring for the ball.Please take note that most of what I say and post is made in satire.

Since they are putting an emphasis on fumble recoveries is it safe to assume that ball physics have been improved?
I still think if would be awesome if balls were occasionally tipped and would "float" in the air for a second allowing users to try and scramble under it while the crowd goes crazy. That would just be so awesome!!Comment

That ruins the game for me personally... its a football sim, there's nothing "sim" about who can mash a button the fastest.Comment

Maybe when theirs a loose ball, you have to sprint towards the ball(obviously) dive on the ball, then another player(s) have to dive into the dude then thats when the camera zooms into the pile(underneath it, or somesort of close up 'birds eye' view) and then.... Im stuck their. Care to add on anyone? lolComment

I think button mashing would be the perfect way. I mean it's not like fumbles happen every play, or every game for that matter. Could really make an intense game even better.

Something you could put in the game without getting in trouble by the NFL I would think is......
Using your analog stick and button corresponding to other players in a pile. I mean using your analog stick left, right, up or down to pull a guy off, push to either side and buttons smashing to over power the guy your trying to beat to the ball. Obviously if your Darren Sproles trying to take James Harrison off a pile it wouldn't even matter how much you try because you have a player that strength is no where near the guy your trying to pull off. You better hope you take control of a very strong guy when doing this.

I'm all for letting ratings determine something for this, and I would like to leave the button tapping for 2K5, whatever other game did this.
If we had to something button/bumper related, all I can think of is having a certain button pressed when the fumble occurs. Based on when you pushed the button after the fumble occurred could put the favor in yours or the computers hand. Make it a reaction based thing but that's only one idea.
Having played Sonic Unleashed you could do a press the sequence of buttons in a certain order, under a certain amount of time. The sequence would be random every time it occurs but that feels like something I'd expect from the Wii version, and not so much 360/PS3.Comment
